Petersham Nurseries

One of things I promised myself at the beginning of the year was to explore more, making more decisions to bring moments of joy to the everyday, be it visiting new places or making simple changes at home.   It boils down to being more decisive and impulsive rather than being doubtful.

At the weekend I was lucky enough to visit Richmond upon Thames, only for the day so couldn’t squeeze everything in but it will all be there for next time.  It is such a beautiful place, it was fun catching the train, how I wish it was as easy up North.  We wandered along the river and meadows taking in the views and admiring the beautiful homes that are river side, but the real reason we were wandering the river path was to visit Petersham Nurseries.  A place I have wanted to go for many a year, we had no grand plans other than to meander through and take it all in.

Everything about Petersham fills me with hope especially at the moment when we feel that we are surrounded by daily news that makes us feel sad and rather useless.  Their ethos is one that I wholeheartedly agree with and reminds me that there are people out there trying to make a difference.

A place of calm, in tune with nature and living positively.

Stepping into the world of Petersham Nurseries is to experience something unique. A destination like no other which stretches boundaries in what is created, sourced and served. Exciting senses and provoking thought; a place of aspiration and inspiration.

We wandered through the gardens, admiring everything, pondering over plants, giving us ideas that we could take away and use in our own garden.  The green houses are beautiful and effortless, everyone visiting seemed very happy to be there taking it all in.  The lifestyle store was inspiring, many pieces of furniture and art were mentally bought.  The displays were beautiful and considered and I absolutely loved it.  It was rather hard leaving, you just wanted to go around it all again.

If you have never been or are wanting to go then I can not recommend it highly enough and I know that I will visit again to be even more inspired.

I’ve wanted to visit for quite some time Geraldine. Lucky for me my daughter is at university just down the road so I finally got the change to go. It was very lovely indeed x

It’s on my wish list of places to visit. Those curated displays look beautiful. I know I’ll take a thousand pictures when I do go! Did you eat in the cafe when you went?

It was so beautiful and calm Sally. No we didn’t eat in the cafe but spent quite a while mooching around the shop and garden. Worth a visit x
