A Day in Pictures

We had a few days away before Easter, I thought I would share with you one of our days in pictures spent at Castle Howard in the Howardian Hills of North Yorkshire.

This stately home is one of my favourites for many reasons.  Its not so far from where we live, it is simply beautiful set in stunning grounds and it also has that extra dollop of magic thrown in for good measure.  The architecture and history is what draws me to these houses; walking through its magnificent rooms on a quiet Friday you can almost picture yourself living here.

Castle Howard has also been used as a film set for one of my all time favourites book turned cinematic wonder that is Brideshead Revisited.  The peace and tranquillity I feel when wandering around such places makes me so very happy, just as it should be.
