Appreciating Home Before a Holiday

It’s funny how you look forward to a Summer holiday so much to relax and recharge but don’t see what you have in your own home before you go.  You rush around, trying to get everything done and sorted before you go off on your jollies without noticing the lovely surroundings you already have.

So as I write my lists for our holiday next week I’m going to take a few moments to stop and look at what I have before getting caught up in the cleaning and packing.  I am going to sit with a cuppa and be still for a while between jobs and enjoy having the French doors open into the garden without stressing that the grass hasn’t been cut or the flowers dead headed.

The packing will get done, the beds will get changed and the garden will get watered and I will enjoy the whole process as I am very lucky to have my beautiful little home and the security it brings.  Knowing it will be clean and tidy when we get home with new treasures to find a space for is a blessing.
