Books,  Collaborations

Creative Homes // Anna Malmberg & Mari Strenghielm

I am always fascinated how books come about, notably ones that are brought to life by creatives, especially those that I admire.  Creative Homes evocative, eclectic & carefully curated interiors by Anna Malmberg and Mari Strenghielm published by Ryland Peters & Small came together through their passion and love for what they do.  The book was a natural progression, both work in the same field as a photographer and interior stylist and both share very similar aesthetics.  After coming together to collaborate on a project they have worked together ever since.

As the pair visit many interesting, inventive and artistic homes for their day jobs criss crossing across Europe while shooting for interior magazines and commercial clients, it was inevitable that the idea of this book was born.  Visiting the talented and varied creatives included in this book, they found spending time in these homes truly inspiring and a very meaningful process for both.  Each home reflects the creative endeavours of the families that live there, giving us an insight into the different processes, inspirations and way of life they lead.

12 unique homes are featured, each belonging to artists, designers, photographers, textile artists, ceramicists and others.  Each home has an intriguing story to tell and hopefully will inspire us the reader to dream and decorate our own spaces with creativity in mind.

There are many ideas and inspiration to be taken from these beautiful homes, whether you like dramatic colour or a calming minimalist style there is something here for everyone to take away and introduce into their own space.  What I love about these homes is the lived in feel of each, you truly get the sense that they are well loved and lived in to the max.  Each bringing out the creative elements of the inhabitants to live a more free and considered life among beautiful surroundings.

With thanks to Ryland Peters & Small for sending Creative Homes for the purpose of this review
