Autumnal Moments
I felt the shift today, Autumn is taking hold. I’m sat typing this completely on my own which is a novel experience. The house hasn’t been this empty with just me in it for many many years, Ruby off at University and Robert on a quite exciting conference for work, so its just me and the radio for company. So I thought it was time to switch things up and add more seasonal things to my home. Bringing in foliage and foraged elements that I’ve collected and dried over the year, which make wonderful displays without having to change for weeks and weeks. Gathering blankets and throws making them more accessible for when the nights draw in to keep you cosy when curled up watching a movie or reading a book. I keep mine in an old metal oyster basket near the fire in the living room, perfect and easy reachable. I’ve also added the simplest of ivory LED candles by lights4fun, they are so realistic and give off that soft flickering glow to add warmth. Their Autumn collection is quite fabulous too, so many wonderful things to choose from to add that soft dappled light to your home.
I’m now on the hunt for the elusive white gourd to dot around to finish it all off, creating my Autumn sanctuary without it costing a fortune. Happiness for me is found in the simplest of things and I do love this season so.
