The Perfect Bag

The perfect bag, yes every girl needs one and I think I have finally found mine.  I’m not a handbag hoarder, I like a good quality well made lifestyle piece that over time will wear well with me.  I take my bag everywhere I go, I feel quite lost without one, so as a bag goes it needs to be durable, flexible, useful and most of all beautiful.

I am lucky enough to have found Ruskin who’s brand ethics mirror my own outlook on life through design, sustainability, simplicity, quality, longevity and craftsmanship.   Ruskin’s owner Alli is a girl after my own heart and lucky for me has designed the Nara bucket bag, the must have for 2016 and beyond, a staple made from the softest of leather from a stunning palette, if I could I’d have one in each colour.

The Nara has come with me everywhere over the winter holidays and will carry on doing so.  It is the perfect size to fit almost anything in, with an easy drawstring opening, lightweight and comfortable.  It is the most perfect shade of Oxford blue, it works with my wardrobe superbly well.  I have finally come to the decision that the natural colour tones are definitely the ones that work for me, slubby greys, navy, black with hints of off white.  This wonderful bag even blended in with the tones of the winter skies and places visited over the past week or so from errand running and historical home perusing to beach combing.  It has been complimented on and if I wasn’t careful stolen by my ever so stylish sister in law!

An investment piece like the Nara bucket bag is timeless and one worth making in my book.  I’m honoured to be a very small part of the Ruskin story.  I’m also very excited for their up and coming tweed collection using wool from Herdwick sheep in the Lake District, a spiritual home of ours that we visit many times a year.
