The Lakes Just the Two of Us
This is going to be a picture heavy post, I took quite a few when we were away. Our first official holiday just the two of us, it was a bit strange without Ruby but we managed just fine and had the most wonderful few days away in Agatha. We didn’t want to stray far so we did a lot of walking and visiting our favourite places that are a stones throw from Ullswater our happy place.
It’s a haven for us, always has been for over 20 years, you feel your shoulders drop and your breath slow as soon as you arrive. Being outside most of the day come rain or shine also brings with it peace and it is always a wrench when you have to leave. We love walking in the hills, sitting by the lake, wandering down the lane to the pub. The simple things in life that make you feel very blessed indeed. Late Spring is quite a wonderful time to visit, the hedge rows are filled with cow parsley bobbing its head, foxgloves grow from stone walls and mossy roofs, lambs are frolicking in the fields and the Herdy’s are just lovely. It’s truly magical.
We’ve even decided to invest in a kayak so we can spend more time on the water so watch this space.

Oh my, your photos are just so beautiful… I am now thinking I need to explore that corner of The Lakes as I’m not far away, but tend to think of it all as touristy Windermere- I need to explore more! Sara from Atrium Vintage ( up in t’dales) …

Ah yes we hardly go to Windermere as it gets so busy, Keswick we visit sometimes because they have a good supermarket! Ullswater is absolutely beautiful, its like our second home x
