Beautiful Devon

I think I am going to let the images do the talking in this post but I will mention a few of our favourite things just in case you are interested.  Devon has my heart, its very rare that we return to a place for a Summer holiday as there are so many beautiful spots here in the UK to explore but Devon, oh Devon we love it so very much.  We are so spell bound by its slow ways that we are seriously thinking of this being the place we set down roots, our plans to make our move are starting to take shape in our minds.

We stay in our caravan just outside Salcombe in a beautiful unspoilt campsite called Bolberry House Farm, its just the best, Hope Cove is a short distance away as are the pretty streets of Salcombe.  Kingsbridge is a little further but worth it, the perfect market town filled with butchers, fishmongers, bakeries, green grocers and all the lovely independent shops you can think of my favourite being Classics Reclamation, I came home with many a salt glazed pot!  They also have the most wonderful of laid back restaurants The Crabshell Inn, most definitely one of our favourite haunts on an evening by the estuary.  Totnes is a half hour drive away but worth going on a Friday for the market and lunch in The Bull Inn.  As days out go we didn’t venture far as the beach at North Sands is too perfect to leave, a daily swim in the sea picking out million pound houses to live in the between each stroke, watching the boats and blue sky, before drying out on the sand, this is certainly my happy place.  Catching a little boat at Dittisham to take us across the Dart to Greenway Agatha Christies holiday home was a treat and well worth doing alongside sitting in the olive grove at Overbeck’s which is a hidden gem.

With big life changes creeping up on us very quickly looking back on these moments will bring joy and hopefully one day we may call it home.

Jane, your blog is a kind testimony to the efforts us Devon folk are making to bring quality and kindness in to our region. You have a clear connection with Devon that I’m sure will bring you here one day. You have an eye for the detail surrounding us and I was so chuffed you came and took pics in Classics and used your thoughtful IG to highlight our project and shop in Kingsbridge. I’m genuinely thankful and glad you popped in! Best wishes to you all and let me know when you start house hunting!!!!!

Dena Devon makes it easy to love, it is most certainly my spiritual home. The slower pace, the people, the businesses that resonate with me and my family. It’s made our plan to move a little easier, don’t worry as soon as the real hunt starts I’ll be on the phone!! xxx
