Duvet Days with Bedfolk
There is nothing I like more than climbing under fresh new bedding, the softness that lulls you into a deep sleep. I like plain bedding sets, ones that are of a certain colour palette that I can mix and match when I feel like it, ones that are super soft in subtle shades, not scratchy or too crisp that rustle when you move, keeping you awake. It can be a mine field trying to find the right ones and that is exactly what the founders of Bedfolk found out too so they decided to simplify the bed linen buying process and start their own company. Jo and Nick’s aim was to strip everything back, overwhelmed by so much choice in the current market, multiple thread counts, weaves and other industry jargon, they set out to source the best bedding from the best mills. To simplify the process even further they decided on just 3 styles in 3 perfect colourways, made in a third generation family run mill in a beautiful part of Northern Portugal which also happens to be a UNESCO world heritage site.
Their mission was rather simple, to make really comfortable bedding essentials, responsibly, and to sell them in a straightforward way at an affordable price. Unlike some other brands they have rejected the confusing and unnecessarily big product assortments of the traditional retailer and sell solely online. This allows the cost of their bedding to be a fraction of the typical cost.
It can become very confusing shopping for bedding on the high street but with Bedfolk you can click a button with a cup of tea in hand knowing you are getting exactly what you have ordered, no fancy nonsense. The bedding collection isn’t overwhelming, they have stripped everything back to make life simple. There are three collections to choose from and the choice is what you prefer to sleep in, Relaxed, Classic or Luxe, all three are the same price but each with a distinct look and feel. Bedfolk like to speak in plain English, each collection is described in such a way that you will just know which is the right one for you. The Relaxed style is my preferred choice, it has the laid back look of linen but with the softness and breathability of cotton. The Classic is like that of boutique hotels, perfectly cool cotton that is crisp and breathable with a matte finish and last but not least the Luxe is super smooth and buttery soft, it has a subtle sheen that feels silky against the skin and gently mellows with washing. Each one of these simple styles comes in 3 soft colour palettes snow, dove and rose, bedding simplified to perfection.
The bedding is made from the finest calibre long-staple cotton, it is ethically woven without harmful chemicals and synthetics and comes packaged in a beautiful box, the bedding set itself comes wrapped neatly in its own draw string bag, perfect for when storing away (not that you would want to do that as you’ll always want to be sleeping in it!) Not an ounce of plastic packaging is used which is so good to see, it makes receiving your parcel a joy to open. Along with your bedding you you can invest in their care kit to keep your bundle looking brand new for years to come. The Bedfolk wool dryer balls are handmade using 100% New Zealand wool, they are an environmentally friendly alternative to dryer sheets and fabric softeners. The dryer balls soften and fluff your bedding if you use a tumble dryer, when not in use keep them in their handy muslin storage bag.
So if you are on the hunt for simple understated bedding without the fuss then look no further than Bedfolk. Cocoon yourself in natural materials that are better for your skin and better for the environment bringing with it the perfect night’s sleep.
