Styling the Seasons ~ May
Goodness these months are steaming past at a rate of knots, its May or should I say the end of May, just enough time to squeeze in my styling the seasons post for the month.
We started the month with May day posies which I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in. I then decided, on the back of painting the floorboards in my front bedroom, that I would redecorate our bedroom too in the calming tones of Lamp Room Grey by Farrow & Ball.
It has been a huge success, by painting the walls and ceiling the same colour I have created a wonderful calm haven of warm grey. The sun rises at the back of our house where our room is situated, so at this time of year you are woken naturally with dappled sunlight. I also de-cluttered the room using only one wall to hang my frames. I made new lampshade covers for the lamps using French linen remnants to tie in with the mix and match white linen bedding, the duvet cover from West Elm the rest vintage French finds. I simply adore French and Hungarian linen as you probably all know by now.
I also have to have fresh flowers in my room; they make me smile every day.
I do like May as a month: Chelsea Flower Show, Springwatch, Bank Holidays for days away in Agatha, our caravan, and of course many hours spent pottering in the garden which has burst into life; all of which bring joy.
