Styling the Seasons ~ April

DSC_9827 Sadly I was too late to enter the wonderful competition for this months Styling Spring at Mine in collaboration with at{mine} to win a place on a workshop that will be a super day of floral goodness.   If you would like to see the winners then click here. I digress I’m posting my styling the seasons for April anyway as this is a personal journey for me, firstly to see how my style changes month on month and the challenges it brings to be disciplined to complete a whole 12 months. DSC_9855 April has passed by in a bit of a blur, Easter came and went with  much merriment and sunshine, I ventured out on my first buying trip of the year for Owen and Hunter (the online pop up shop is taking shape as we speak) and I’ve finally got rid of the nasty carpet in my spare room and painted the floorboards.  Then last week I was in London thoroughly enjoying myself at Emily Quinton’s Maker Spaces book launch at West Elm but that’s another post entirely! DSC_9842 DSC_9851 DSC_9840 DSC_9837 DSC_9850 So with all that said this is what April means to me.  A calm space, pared back styling, (all items available from Owen and Hunter, flowers not included).   My favourite things that I can’t help purchase when I come across them, large glass pickling jars wonderful empty standing proud or filled with items such as balls of string to big tall stems creating that ultimate statement.  Garden chairs with a tale to tell and linen oh my lovely linen I really can’t have too much, all that you see here is Hungarian and swoon worthy. DSC_9835 DSC_9844 DSC_9846 If you would like take part in next months Styling the Seasons style up a surface each month take some photos either blog about it or share on social media using the hashtag #stylingtheseasons and tag @AptApothecary and @lottsandlots/@tweetinglotts.
